In civil cases, parties wishing to appeal without paying for the clerk’s record and/or reporter’s record must file the approved Supreme Court form, Statement of Inability to Afford Payment of Court Costs or an Appeal Bond, as explained in Rule 145 of the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure.

The Civil Docketing Statement can be e-signed using the free Adobe Acrobat Reader DC. Once e-signed, the Civil document is ready to be saved and e-filed without the process of printing to PDF.
Criminal Docketing Statement must still be prepared for filing using the instructions below.
After completing the form, in order to create a PDF suitable for electronic filing you must use the Print to PDF feature. To save the file as a pdf, click on File then Print. Under printer, select Adobe PDF and then click Print. A screen will appear "Save PDF File As" and you can then save the file. The docketing statement is now ready to be electronically submitted.
When printing, select “Adobe PDF” as your printer destination; you will be prompted to save the file.
