Criminal History Information

To confirm your report was sent to the court, you may do the following:

1. Login to your online profile.

2. Go to the View Pending Applications menu option

3. Click on the View Details link for your application

You will be able to see all checklist items for your application. The checklist item for the background report sent to the court will show Complete if it was sent, Pending if it has yet to be sent, or Information Requested if we have contacted you to send in your form.

Name and DOB background check reports are sent to the court after:

1. We have received your guardianship registration form, and

2. We have received your signed and dated DPS CCH Verification form.

If the liquid estate value of the ward is $50,000 or less, email our Criminal History Specialist and advise them of the situation so they can ensure the reports are sent to the court clerk as soon as possible. Please ensure to include Expedite Matter in the subject line of your email.

If the liquid estate value of the ward is over $50,000 you must contact the court clerk in the county where the case if filed for assistance on this matter as the JBCC has no access to fingerprint-based background check reports.

Guardians that must be fingerprinted include (professionally) certified guardians, guardians living outside of Texas, and guardians whose wards have a liquid estate value exceeding $50,000.

Note:

• The JBCC no longer has access to the FBI database for guardianship registrations.

• The county clerk where the guardianship is filed must provide you with the instructions needed to get fingerprinted. 

If the liquid estate value of the ward is $50,000 or less, email our Background Check Specialist and advise them of the situation so they can ensure the reports are sent to the court clerk as soon as possible. Please ensure to include Expedite Matter in the subject line of your email.
