History

The 74th Texas Legislature directed the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Texas to establish the Texas Commission on Judicial Efficiency, which made recommendations regarding information technology, funding parity, court performance measures, staff diversity, and judicial selection. The 75th Legislature passed many of the commission’s recommendations. The technology recommendations, updated to 2009, are in Chapter 77 Government Code.
