Operation Lone Star

On August 29, 2021, Governor Abbott proclaimed that an ongoing and imminent threat of disaster related to the border exists in certain counties. The Office of Court Administration (OCA) can offer limited assistance to Operation Lone Star (OLS) counties in the management of OLS cases, and we will attempt to connect your county to resource support as best we can. Operation Lone Star (OLS) cases may pose a unique challenge to local judicial systems, specifically in relation to indigent defense, case volume, and docket management. Please be aware that local courts retain the responsibility to oversee the management and adjudication of OLS cases.
